Get Ready with Me: Goodbye 2023!!!

I'm ready for a fresh new year!  2023 had it's ups and down but it's time to move on to 2024!   Fashionably Dead  takes what could be a basic cable-knit sweater and gives it a wow-factor with the ties down the back.  Pair it with soft subtle leather skirt from  Ison  and you'll have them turning heads coming and going! Don't forget to check out the  Lazy Sunday Sale!   I found some great accessories from  Sigma  and  KIB  to complete the look. SWEATER:  Fashionably Dead  - Tied Fuzzy Sweater  SKIRT:  Ison  - Asymmetrical Strap Skirt  SHOES:  Mosquito's Way  - Ambe  HAIR:  Doux  - Morning Hairstyle  JEWELRY:  Sigma  - Spine Choker & Earrings (75L for Lazy Sunday Sale) PURSE:  KIB  - Dama Bag (75L for Lazy Sunday)  For more info check out my  Flickr  page!  Thanks for stopping by! ⟹⟹🌺🌺 Beatrice VDV ...

Get Ready with Me - Ready for the Markets

Don't you love rediscovering a store?  That's me when I found out that Zaara  was still open!  Mind you I've only returned to SL about 3 years ago but I remember Zaara from my first stint back in the early '10s.  The designer really understands fabrics and many of her styles have an Indian-style flair to them.   Take this skirt that I am wearing - amazing fabrics, FP came with many to choose from.  And it does have a matching top but instead I opted for one of my favorites from Meva .  Finish this look with plenty of jewelry from Sigma  and a high end bag to carry - this look says 'POSH' all the way!  Like anything you see?  Here's the deets on the look: SKIRT:    Zaara  - Samantha Skirt  TOP:    Meva  - Francine Top  PURSE:   [LVM]  - $LV Monogram Clutch$  Necklace:    Sigma  - Long Chain Necklace (at  Tres Chic Dec ). BRACELET:    Sigma ...

Rocker Chic with LaraX and Tetra

Well it took a few weeks but finally I got the hint - time to start using my LaraX body for my photos.  When I purchased the fatpack for the new Fiona jacket from Tetra , it only came with the LaraX body.  So I figured I'd put together my first GRWM LaraX look with that beautifully designed and textured jacket!  I paired it with this soft white sleeveless turtkleneck top I bought from Gawk (that was the very first LaraX item I purchased) and that sexy short skirt from AsteroidBox.    It'll take some adjusting to migrate to the new body, but I do like the look of the shoulders and my bum seems a tad bit rounder.  And luckily things like Hair, Jewelry, Fingernails and Shoes seem to work no matter the body.  That makes the transition a tad bit easier. Like anything you see?  Here's the deets on the look: TOP:  Gawk - Phoebe Turtleneck Top White SKIRT:  AsteroidBox - Lea Skirt in White Stripes JACKET:  Tetra - Fiona Jacke...

Who doesn't love Otters?

In between my latest photographs I will post some of my earlier Get Ready with Me (GRWM) photos.  One of the first ones I had done in this series is still one of my favorites.  It paired 3 things I really like in SL - sweaters from Ison , BOM legwear from C'est La Vie  and OTTERS!! Ok I can't own a pet otter in the USA but I did discover that the Japanese allow for folks to own one specific breed.  I think there are even places you can visit in Japan where you can play with the otters!  That's a trip to add to my bucket list of travels! Hanging out with my pet Otter! This photograph started with one of my favorite sweaters from Ison.  It's long enough to be worn as a dress and comes with a second layer to give it contrast.  Ison sweaters have amazing details on their texture - look up close and you can see the cableknit stitching! And I am such a huge fan of BOM.  I have all the Stockings, leggings, thigh-highs, & socks from C'est La Vie....

Get Ready with Me by Beatrice VanDerVoort

Welcome to my new fashion series "Get Ready with Me".  This is where I invade my inventory and put together unique looks inspired by the great fashion in Second Life. I've had sponsors for my series, in fact I've had some of the best designers who allowed me to blog their clothes.  To all of those designers - you are amazing and it was an honor to blog for you. However, I suck at deadlines.  Big time.  I have RL, friends, work and all that other craziness and sometimes I just don't want to push out another photo.  Sometimes I felt I wasn't giving it my 100%.  And that's just not right if someone is giving something to you for free. So after taking a break for the summer, I opted to restart my flickr page and this time I would blog what inspires me.  Sometimes it's new stuff by designers that I've found and sometimes it's a hidden gem buried within my inventory.  But one thing I can tell you - about 90% of what I blog I paid to own.  (or found...
